My drivers side seat on my 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo has broken. 3 of the 4 brackets which are attached to the seat frame have sheered. The result of this is that my seat is only attached to my car by one bracket, in an accident this bracket may not adequately hold the seat in place. When making a turn the seat shifts. This is a dangerous situation with the only remedy being buying a new seat, or making a do…

First of all, i am not the first person to have this complaint. My drivers seat is broken on my 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo. Upon research, i found that this problem was in no way unique to me. This is ridiculous!!! I demand a recall, or at least compensation for paying to have my seat replaced. If i were the only person with this problem, i would understand, but every person that i've talked to has experienced…

I bought a grand cherokee limited in 2001 and the seat heaters (drivers and passengers) were both replaced in the first two years because they became inoperable. In 2007 the drivers side seat heater became so hot it burnt out. In 2008 the passenger side did the same. There has been a recall, but i have been told by jeep service dept. That my vehicle is not included. *tr

Noticed slight seat movement during operation. Seat failed while driving (front left bracket area of driver seat.) temporary fix by folding rear seat to support driver seat from falling back. Bolted front part of seat back together, held fairly. Right rear portion near seat back broke shortly after, unable to repair. Seat rocks from side to side, is leaned to the right, and leans to the rear. Original seat still in…

I now have to drive around with my 2 year old in a crooked seat and the safety belt doesn't lay right since it is crooked. I think this is a very serious problem. *tr

Driver's side seat broken in 2001 jeep grand cherokee. Initially the seat started with a metallic grinding sound. Then there was a slight snap. Now the seat rocks back and forth and side-to-side. We have not been able to correct the problem due to the inability to find replacement parts. The dealer fix is entirely too costly. *tr

Filing a common complaint related to a flaw in the manufacturing of the jeep grand cherokee front seats. Most occur in the 1999-2004 models. The metal that attaches the seat to the floor is flimsy and has broken. It makes the seat wobbly and will lead to my legs hitting the steering wheel and possibly cause a wreck. This is a fatal flaw from jeep/chrysler. *tr

Broken metal driver's power/heated seat frame under normal wear. Same problem as in other people's complaints: the driver's seat frame broke in one corner and is no longer able to be bolted to the floor track. Seat rocks and leans back. Puts a lot of strain on other seat components. Would be very dangerous in accident. Dealer says would have to replace entire seat and track assembly for $1000+. *nm

There are two problems with this model of jeep grand cherokee laredo. 1) the tail light socket in this model of jeeps constantly burns out. I have replaced this socket numerous times at $8.00 - $10.00 each and have kept all of the burned out sockets as evidence. When the socket burns out, the tail lights stop working once you turn the headlights on. My vehicle has automatic headlights and this truly causes a big…

Approximately 5 years ago, the heat stopped working on the passenger side of my 2001 jeep grand cherokee. Then last year, the heat and a/c stopped working completely. This makes for very dangerous driving conditions as visibility is greatly reduced at times. Its too costly for me to repair myself. It appears that this is a problem for most of these vehicles and i can't understand why something hasn't been done about…

The driver's side seat foundation broke and came of the track. This caused the seat to start reclining backwards. This occurred because a weld on the seat had fracture. The consumer feels the seat would have separated from the structure in the event of an accident. *nm
