At approximately 137,000 miles, the driver's seat frame snapped at two points, causing the seat to rock from side to side when entering/exiting and when making sharp turns. Since it is not attached to the frame at that point, it will not pass inspection. I was in motion on a busy city street on the way to school when the seat gave way and started moving.

I have about 192,000 miles ...owned the car since 2001..about 1 year ago i noticed the front seat was beginning to wiggle...in time until 10/14/15 when i took it to the chrysler deatership (franich) in watsonville, ca. 95076 where i was advised i had a broken frame on the driver's side front seat. Their only solution was to try and sell me a whole new seat assembly...at the cost of $750 which would have represented…

I was driving along, and made a left turn when i heard a loud pop and felt my driver's seat become loose. It wobbles around and feels as though it would go flying away if i were to be struck by another vehicle at any time. It makes the car very hard to drive and feels very unsafe. I took it to the dealership as soon as i could get it there and was told the part to fix it had been discontinued. I was advised to go…

Driving home following and as i was slowing for a curve in a residential area near home the seat gave way. I checked as best i could and noticed some rust areas on the carpet, bolts, holding the seat frame & the frame itself (there was no interior water leaks in the vehicle). The seat has continued to give & break. I checked to see if a recall had been made or a safety bulletin been issued and found it had not, but…

While driving, the drivers seat had something break underneath it causing the seat to become more of a rocking chair, wobbling back and forth and to the side. My 19 year old son was driving at the time, and thank goodness he was preparing to stop at a stop sign and he almost was thrown backwards. Now this vehicle is undriveable. Have called around to jeep dealers and found out that it is the power seat adjuster…

On a recent day-long trip, the electric seat heater on driver's side overheated, causing a 4" diameter badly blistered burn on the back of my leg. A recall for this defect was issued on 4/7/2009 for 2001-2004 models (nhtsa campaign number: 09v117000 ), but i was not able to find one for the 1999 grand cherokee limited. We have owned our 1999 grand cherokee since 1999 - its been a great car but every single issue listed on this website has befallen us. Currently @ 149k miles we have no heat on the driver side due to blend door assembly, the airbag light goes off all the time and there is no heat in the drivers side seat. I am shocked that so many people have the exact same issues and that to me says there is truly something wrong.…

Jeep grand cherokee laredo drivers side seat completely broken off of frame. Started with one side breaking several months ago, leaving seat to lean to one side and unable to adjust anymore then just completely snapped off. Drove for couple days with something wedged in the back to keep propped up until it could be looked at. Was told it is not repairable. Would have to be a costly replacement. *tr

I have a 1999 grand jeep cherokee. My front driver seat is broken as well. I've owned many cars in my life, and i've never had a broken seat. I should be a recall on the 1999 jeeps. It's up there with having a working air bag. No one should have to pay to have their driver seat fix, when that should be one thing they shouldn't have to worry about. It's happening to a lot of grand jeep cherokees. I hope they do a…
