Rotor
I bought my 2000 jeep cherokee new in 2000, currently have 27,000 miles on it and about to have the rotors replaced for the 4th time. Rotors warp every 5000 to 6000 miles to a point where the car is undriveable. The dealer continues to deny that there is an issue with the jeep and the rotor warping is due to stop and go driving, which is idiotic.*ak

Dealer contacted because brakes pulsating and uneven stopping. Dealer replaced rotors were warped.dealer said rotors were warped due to heat generation . This is been going on from the time i had this car till today without resolution. Chrysler knows anout it and do not know what to do other than replace the rotors with the same rotors and the same thing keeps happening every 3-4 months since i owned this vehicle. I…

Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip · Rotor
Shuttering and poor vehicle control at 70 mph slow down to full braking. This is an ongoing problem. The rotors have been turned, and now need to be replaced at 38,000 miles. I think that after reading all the complaints on brakes for this vehicle, that this problem needs some attention. *ak

Vehicle shakes upon applying brakes, problem is with defective rotors, started at 8000 miles, jeep refuses to replace. Numerous complaints from others with same problem. Why is nhtsa waiting until a fatality occurs ?

Warped rotors at 9k miles - dealer turned rotors at no cost. Warped rotors at 16k miles - dealer replaced rotors at no cost. Warped rotors at 20k miles - dealer says i have poor driving habits and they will not cover the rotors any more. We will see about that! Next is the power steering groan made when making slow right hand turns - dealer replaced gear box once. Now the noise is happening intermittently - dealer…

We returned the grand cherokee because while we were driving and hitting the brakes, the steering wheel started to shake. The dealership told us that the rotors were warped. They weren't covered under warranty because we had more than 12000 miles on it. The rotors were warped, but the brakes were excellent. We feel that the rotors should have been covered. We've only had the new jeep a little over a year. How can…

Front disc brake rotors fail after 4,000-6,000 miles on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee. It is not an isolated problem; chrysler knows of it, dealers like mine replace them regularly, and as long as the new ones fail within the 12,000 mile warranty will continue to do so. But chrysler has no apparent intention of dealing with this problem in any other fashion. My car is unsafe due to brake pulsation once the rotors have…

Rotors are warping. All my friends with jeeps have had rotors fail within 20k miles. Must be defective parts from manufacturer. Vehicle shuddrers uncontrollably when braking hard. If the driver rarely brakes hard, he may not realize the extent of the problem until he forcefully applies the brakes. At that point, it is very easy to get into an accident. Myself and three others have almost had accidents because of…

Specific problem pertains to front rotors. Front rotors wear out every 4000 to 6000 miles or whenever they get hot, which causes servere pulsation when braking at speed over 45 mph. We are now looking at replacing rotors for the 3rd time in 18 months and less than 21,000 miles. Dealer has extended warranty to 36,000 miles, however we want a long term solution to this problem. We have two friends who own the same car…
