The in-dash heater/ac blend door is malfunctioning causing air flow not to be properly diverted between lower dash vents, dashboard vents and defroster vents. This is creating an unsafe condition whereby the windshield will not clear in rainstorms and will not stay defrosted in winter driving. A search on the internet and along with discussions with a local dealer working with jeeps for many years has led me to…

We own a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo. It just started blowing cold air only out of the drivers side vents and hot air out of the passengers side vents. We understand it is a blend door malfunction which is widespread among 1998-2004 jeep grand cherokee owners. We called our local jeep dealer and they estimated it would cost between $800 and $2000 to fix as they would have to pull the entire dash out of the car.…

    Defroster/Defogger/Hvac System

2000 jeep grand cherokee. Passenger side vents blow extremely cold air, even with the heat turned on. With negative temperatures this past week, this makes driving the vehicle nearly impossible. This is a widespread issue that is a known vehicle flaw and extremely costly to fix. This isn't about comfort, but about safety in winter weather!!! *tr

The dual climate control has been not functional due to the fact that my blend door actuator is stock on vent. This has caused me great discomfort and severe safety issues because i can not circulate any warm air in my car or defrost. I sincerely hope jeep does a recall, not only to keep valued customers, but to prevent any serious accidents due to the fact that the defrost is completely disfunctional. *tr

My blend door that controls my heat and a/c on my 2000 jeep grand cherokee is broken. I've done a lot of research on this problem. There are alot of jeep owners with the same/similar problem. This should totally be a recall and should be fixed by jeep/chrysler. *tr

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee. I have no heat and can't defrost the windows. I took it to a chrysler dealer and they told me the bender boards need to be replaced at a cost of about $1,200/. I did some research and there are a lot of people that are complaining about this issue with jeep. This is obviously a design flaw and should be recalled and fixed by chrysler at no charge to the customer. *tr

    Defroster/Defogger/Hvac System

2000 jeep grand cherokee blender door, which is located in the heater/ air conditioner box. Upon looking up this problem, and asking other jeep owners, this seems to be a very common and large problem, as well as costly ($800- $1200) to repair. How could there not possibly be a recall on something as expensive as this to fix. Especially when it happens to all of these vehicles in the years between 1999-2004? The…

Recirc door, the driver's blend door, and the passenger's blend door all have too much travel, causing only cold air to come in on passenger or on driver side causing fog build up on the front windshield which prevents drivers vision and could cause a major accident. 2000 jeep grand cherokee, this is the third occurance that my heating/cooling system has failed since i purchased my jeep in august of 1999. The latest problem is the blend doors and recirculation doors. The dealer cost to fix was about $900.00. After seven years i would think that chrysler could make a heating/cooling system that would not break every 2.5years. *nm

I own a 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited with 116,000 miles. The events leading up to the failure of the ventilation system were (1) rapid fogging of front windshield, (2) no defrost on passenger side of windshield, (3) fogging of front passenger windows and windshield,(4) failure of passenger heat while still maintaining driver heat function, and (5) only cold air release on passenger side of jeep. Consequently the…
