Wife traveling with son on fwy at legal speed of 70 mph w/cruise control on, car suddenly decelerated causing a violent maneuver forcing car into neighboring lane and almost crashing. She stated it was as if it suddenly downshifted into lowest gear and brakes applied forcefully. Regaining control she deactivated the cruise control and proceeded to destination at 50 mph. Took to dealership in davis where it was…

Jeep stalled on the freeway. I was going 65 mph on i-71 and it stalled dead in the roadway. I had to pull over after avoiding other vehicles and restart the vehicle. When it stalled, it gave no warning, simply died on the freeway and i was left with no brakes, no steering and limited drivablity. I called chrysler and got a person by the name of [xxx] as my case manager. She was the most clueless and incompetent…

2008 jeep grand cherokee overland 5.7 hemi stalled on freeway. I had to immediately pull over as heavy traffic and vehicle would not restart and i lost all steering/brakes/engine control. I ended up hitting a road cone (no notable damage) as i was pulling into the somewhat small pullover zone (was in highway construction). Vehicle restarted only after being put in park and removing and reinserting the key. *tr

The vehicle has been in the shop 6 times in 6 years. This latest time chrysler refused to honor the warranty. The dealer, who is out of business due because of chrysler shutting them down, was to notify us of an inspection when it came due. All the other dealer i spoke to confirmed this, however we were never notified. The repairs were $1065 and should have been under warranty per the dealer which did the repairs.…

Vehicle shifted into 4wd low by itself while driving in a parking lot. I parked the jeep in a parking space, and after placing the transmission selector in park, the jeep started rolling. I had to use the parking brake to keep it from rolling out of the space. The repair shop replaced the transfer case actuator and harness due to the transfer case shifting in and out of 4wd, and having no park, which caused it to…

8/8/12 driving from temple tx to tunica ms (stopping there before continuing on to indianapolis, in). Car gave no issues/indications of trouble. 8/9/12 car would barely go 10 miles per hour leaving the hotel, would stop forward progress of any kind if i stopped, had to put in park, turn off car and turn on again. Vehicle would die unexpectedly and not restart until transmission was put in park position. Several incidents ie stopped at light, acceleration to turnpike, slow street driving this would disable steering and create difficult braking. *tr

2008 jeep grand cherokee stalls at high speeds and intermittently while driving. Dealer unable to fix thus far ( has car for almost 30 days). In addition, same thing happened on my 2007 model and has happened to a number of people i know with jeep grand cherokees. Internet is filed with reports of same events happening at random. Mine stalled at 65 mph - all electric, radio, flashers, everything just goes out. Very…

Vehicle shuts off and all electrical and power steering inoperable. Shut offs happen intermittently at speeds from 20 mph to 70 mph. It generally occurs upon hitting road bumps, rail road tracks or pot holes. These incidents have happened 4-6 times per year. I have taken the vehicle to chrysler's service engineering garage and suburban chrysler jeep and they are unable to replicate or fix the issue. There have been…
