When blower motor turned on high panel under passenger side under dash getting extremely hot. Removed paneling under dash and wires are melting, too hot to touch! Extreme fire hazard!!!! Huge liability!! Scared to even turn on blower motor any more due to possibility of fire. During current rain storm unable to get windows defogged to see to drive had to pull off to side of road. *tr

Cold air blowing from passenger side vents and windshield defroster regardless of control or temp settings. Driver side temp adjustments work properly, but passenger side and windshield defroster controls do not provide any heat. Windshield does not defrost, as temp mix is not functioning for passenger vents or for windshield defroster. Problem has not been resolved. *tr

Heat stopped working on the passenger side of my vehicle. Now there seems to be little to no heat on the driver's side. I was told that this has been an issue with the jeep grand cherokee line, and yet nothing is done about it. Of course this always seems to happen after the warranty has expired. I have yet to pursue repairs as this will cost me almost $500. *tr

I own a 2002 jeep grand cherokee overland with 44,500 miles. The events leading up to the failure of the ventilation system were (1) rapid fogging of front windshield,(2) fogging of front passenger windows,(3) failure of passenger heat while still maintaining driver heat function, and (4) only cold air release on passenger side of jeep. Consequently,(1) the windshield and front windows do not defog, and (2) no heat…

When heat is on, cold air blows from the passenger side. I believe the passenger side blend door is broken. I believe this is a factory/design problem and it affects the defogger and visibility. Estimates over $1,000 to repair. *tr

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited and always heard noises from the vent since i bought the jeep, got it checked out when it was under warranty and they did something to the actuator. A little over a year ago i had coolant leaking into my car on the passenger side, had to get a new heater core ($800) then when they finished no heat was coming out, it was the blend door so they had to redo all the work in…

Air blend doors located deep inside dashboard have failed on my car & thousands of others. This causes the drivers compartment to typically freeze during winter months. Even though it is an admitted manufacturing defect, chrysler will not issue a recall because it is not deemed enough of a safety issue. Since repairs are $1k or more, many people are putting off service or trying homemade remedies to fix the problem.…
