I was informed by a supervisor at the chrysler corporation that the reason that the transfer case (part of the drivetrain) on my all wheel drive jeep broke while i was driving was because there was a difference in tire tread depth of greater than 3/32 of an inch (2.3mm). They were kind enough to reimburse me $1000 towards the repair, however, i do believe that this is a safety issue.

There have been more recalls than i can count, but recently i was driving it and the alternator (which was recalled) when out in the middle of driving and i had immediately pull over and lost control of the car. I've had another recent recall not the shifter and my stereo randomly went black, allowing no control over the vehicle settings or a/c. This car is a lemon!
